Ritual cleansing is a common element in many religions. In Wicca, we see water as a purifying substance that washes away the disturbing vibrations of daily tensions and allows us to present ourselves before the deities in a state of bodily and mental purity.

On a deeper level, immersion in water puts us in touch with our most primal memories. Bathing in a tub of warm, salty water is akin to walking in the waves of the ever-welcoming ocean, the realm of the Goddess.

This prepares us spiritually and physically during and/or for the upcoming ritual.

Ritual soap can be used:

  • To purify and cleanse energies every day or before a ceremony or ritual
  • During a ritual as a tool depending on the ingredients it has
  • At the end of a ceremony or ritual to finalize the cleansing, purification or silk offering
